Survivors Speak is more than just a protest organization! We fight to ensure that our nation acknowledges systemic racism and its overall impact on the United States. The legacy of racial oppression lies with us, especially when we consider the 400+ years of oppression faced by the black community. We also stand up for survivors of our criminal justice system, whether they be victims or defendants who were wrongfully convicted. This also includes individuals who are bullied, a survivor of human trafficking, rape and child abuse; anyone who needs a voice in our society.  In order to accomplish these goals, we must seek legislative change, as well as apply pressure to our justice system. We must give individuals and communities the tools of self-empowerment. All of these actions push us toward a better tomorrow, and actively bends the arc of the moral universe toward justice.

"No matter how big a nation is, it is no stronger than its weakest people, and as long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you might otherwise."
